The Charter of the United Nation of Indigenous Peoples, The Children of Mother Earth.
WE THE CHILDREN OF MOTHER EARTH, THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF THE FOUR DIRECTIONS, THE BROWN(RED), THE BLACK, THE YELLOW, AND THE WHITE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM ON BEHALF OF US AND ALL OUR RELATIONS,
to save succeeding generations from the scourge of genocide to us and to all our relations, and to our Mother Earth, to reaffirm our faith in the fundamental rights of humanity and all of creation, of which we are all a part, to establish conditions under which justice and respect and enforcement of all obligations arising from all treaties past, present or future, and other sources of international law can be maintained, to promote social freedoms and better standards of life for all humanity, and to live in harmony and balance with all creation, AND FOR THESE ENDS,
to live with tolerance and forgiveness, together in peace with one another, as one family, and to unite our strength to create and maintain peace and security, for all of humanity and all creation, and to ensure, by the acceptance of the principles of unconditional love, and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used. save that in the common interest of all creation, and to employ global machinery for the promotion of the economic and social benefit of all the children of Mother Earth,
HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS.
Accordingly, on October 14, 1998(*) our respective societies, through representatives who will assemble in the city known as Mexico City in the land known as Mexico, who have been appointed by their societies, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due faith, have agreed to create this Charter of the United Nation of Indigenous Peoples and do hereby establish a global organization to be know as the United Nation of Indigenous Peoples, the Children of Mother Earth.
