O si
yo'(Greetings), My Brothers and Sisters and all our
Relations
This is about the
vision that was given to me by the Clans Mothers. In Oct
of 94 we had went to Washington to see someone about the
Native American Student Assoc. that we had just formed at
UF in Gainesville, FL. On the way back home I had been
called to a acquire a deer skin.
On the journey home
my family had complained about its smell so I hung it on
our back porch. Later that night I went out on the porch
and I was lead to sage the skin and to ask the Spirit of
the deer to understand that I was asking for it know that
I wish to honor her and that she was not forgotten and
that I wished to use her skin for my prayers, something
to sit upon.
After a few moments
there came deer many of them and they gathered about the
porch where I sat and They told me that were very happy
that I had done this and they approved. A few moments
passed and then they left. Then there came the women.
Here is what
happened:
In Oct 94, there came the women, more than could be
counted and they circled about me and as each sat there
heads became that of the animals, their bodies where
still that of the woman. There they did hold council with
me, to share the pain of our Mother Earth, and to give me
instructions, for they where the Clan Mothers. They spoke
to me about Chota. They told me that it was one of seven
holy cities(villages), here in North America. That Chota
is a very special place where one could come and would be
safe, that here it was the women had no fear.
Echota is a special place, the
name means New
Chota.
The New Holy City(village) of safety. Echota is a place for the women
to come and to bring their families. It is to be a place
where the women will be able to once again come with
their children, here they will begin to learn again the
relationship of Mother Earth, the women and creation,
it is a place where their daughters can learn, who then
can begin to teach their daughters, who then can begin to
teach their sons. Here the Clan Mothers and Elders will
teach the ways of balance, and we will again learn from
the Children, what has been lost or forgotten -
This
story will be told, with Unconditional Love and
Forgiveness.
